Custom

When ordering a West Valley Custom we enter into a creative and collaborative. My guitars are fully customisable, from binding to chambering, fretwire to scale length, colour, hardware, pickups and timbers. But don’t be overwhelmed! I will guide you through these choices to help you can create an instrument that suits your playing and represents you.

Extravagance. This price bracket offers all the bells and whistles. Chambering, neck and body binding, body carves, high end tremolo units, custom wiring options, boutique pickups and more. Go all out with design choices to create the most unique guitar imaginable.

WV jUNIOR Custom (from £1950)

Simplicity. This price bracket offers a single pickup (in-house or outsourced), wrap-around bridge, comfortable round-overs and solid block colour or natural finish. Hone in on what’s important and pare back design to create an elegant and focussed instrument.

Natural. This price bracket offers an all timber finish complete with chambering, f-holes, body binding, boutique pickups and more. Showcase the beauty of natural wood and create a timeless looking instrument that will turn heads.

    Body

    Ergonomically, WV Custom bodies are based on Fenders timeless design. However, the body is chambered and 4mm thinner than a standard Tele, making it feel both familiar and beautifully light.

    NECK

    My necks are hand carved, giving total control over your preferred profile. The timber is either quarter-sawn or re-enforced with carbon fibre rods ensuring incredible strength and stability.

    PICKUPS

    This is the most sonically important part of the guitar. As such I use only the finest pickups and luckily the UK has some wonderful boutique makers. I also offer custom wound West Valley pickups.

    HARDWARE

    Hardware choice is vital for stable tuning, rock solid intonation, great sustain and of course a unique style. Because of this, I only install hardware of the highest quality on my electric guitars.

    FINISH

    Guitars are tools and personal statements. Bold colours and stylish hardware give a stage worthy front end whilst the back showcases the beauty and function of the timbers; oil/wax finished for burnished comfort over time.

    TIMBERS

    Sustainability is extremely important to me. I source timber from responsible FSC regulated suppliers. I also live near some fantastic small scale sawmills who supply me with beautiful local timbers.
